Fall 2007 Social Hour & Evening Themes
Just for fun, the social hour parties and evening events have a different theme each day. While nudity is still the overall rule, gathering attendees are encouraged (but not required) to wear accessories that correspond to the theme for the social hour and evening. Social hour "costumes" can range from a simple cap or hat to the outlandish. After months of extensive deliberation, the planning committee has announced the following themes for the Fall 2007 West Coast Gathering: Friday, September 14: Wigs and More - The Madd Hatter has flipped his wig! What would you suggest? What wig would your friends say is really you? Do you prefer a long hippie cut, a Mohawk, or something curly and red? Would a clown wig be more your style? Wear your favorite wig, hat, cap, crown, tiara, bonnet or beanie. Opening ceremonies and get acquainted activities will highlight the evening. Saturday, September 15: Genital Hospital - Was M.A.S.H. your favorite television show or could you relate more to "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest?" Ever wanted to play doctor or nurse? Dominant doctors, nelly nurses, and crazy patients unite! It's Genital Hospital tonight! Sunday, September 16: Hugs & Kisses - The week session has finally begun. Old friends have arrived, newcomers have joined in. How many people will you greet and hug tonight? Are your closest friends here? Do you have a partner or are are you looking for romance? Who will be your valentine? What to wear? Pick your favorite friendly color accessories or your favorite cap. Monday, September 17: Green With Envy - Green is a fun color, what else does it mean to you? Are you green with envy, do you live for St. Patrick's Day and all that is Irish, is your favorite TV celebrity Kermit and his friends, do you love fresh green vegetables, does green keep you going, or are you dedicated to environmentally green living? Wear your favorite green cap or hat, green sandals or other green accessories this evening.
Wednesday, September 19: All That Glitters - "A kiss on the hand may be quite continental, but diamonds are a girl's best friend. A kiss may be grand, but it won't pay the rental on your humble flat. But square-cut or pear-shape, these rocks don't lose their shape. Diamonds are a girl's best friend." Dress to sparkle tonight. Perhaps you will find paradise in a luxurious ensemble, in something totally silly, or in the man wearing one.... Miss CMEN Queen contest is also planned for this evening. Who will win our hearts?
Friday, September 21: Night at the Oscars - Hollywood has provided us a chance to escape to a fantasy life in bygone era or an enchanted place, companionship with a superhero righting wrong, or a life of glamour and romance. Which is your favorite Hollywood movie? Is it a comedy, drama, western or adventure? Who is your favorite star? Wear a hat, bow tie, or other accessories that your favorite star or character might wear to the Oscars. The highlight of the evening will be the Mr. CMEN contest. Saturday, September 22: Surf's Up - "If everybody had an ocean, across the U.S.A., then everybody'd be surfin', like Californi-a, you'd see 'em wearing their baggies, huarache sandals too, A bushy bushy blonde hairdo, Surfin' U.S.A." The waves are up and the ocean breeze is blowing, cool friends, great music--it's surfer paradise! Hang ten and party tonight, dude. Talent show will highlight this evening. Volunteers are welcome to help with these and other proposed theme related evening activities, please note any special interest when sending in the registration form. Sound like fun?
